Hi, I want to share with you the process for the illustration of one of my OCs. This time the main character is Jizo, the Guardian God of Children and Travellers.
1) Sketch: In the first step, sketch will be made focusing on composition and character design. I'm not very good at composition though but I still try my best to improve T^T
2) Line: I will then trace and line along the sketch. On rare occasions, I will skip this step when I want to try a different approach.
3) Color sketch: Next, I will loosely sketch colors to find the combination that I like the most. I used to fill base color for each part in this step but now I often just paint under the line art.
4) Rendering: In this step render each part and finish the character.
5) Background and Finishing Touch: Finally, I draw the background (I usually not too good at this part either) and apply some finishing touches. The piece is now complete!
